Nabhi granthi – prana and apana are ‘knotted’ in the navel area creating an aggregate that gives youthful strength to the aging yogi. This is the first step in Raja Yoga
Nada – inner sound, primeval sound
Nadi – channels in the subtle body. The three most important being ida, pingala, and sushumna. Flow; subtle channel in the pranic body, conducting the flow of shakti; comparable to the meridians in acupuncture.
Nauli – fifth shatkarma; abdominal massage.
Neti – the third shatkarmas; nasal cleansing
Nirvikalpa – seedless samadhi; pure undifferentiated consciousness; it contains no phenomenal impressions whatever, no seeds of desire and attachment. One with Brahman.
Nirvichara – gross level, seeded samadhi; super-reflective
Nirvitarka – gross level, seeded samadhi; without deliberation
Niyama – Observances or spiritual practice
Na medhaya [nuh medhuya]: not by the intellect
