Oceanic Planet Introduction
Mobius is a beautiful blue and white ball that orbits the sun along the same orbitational flow as we do but it is hidden behind the sun opposite us and that is why we have not unable to see Mobius. and it is the sister planet of our own planet Earth and could be called the third planet from the Sun As well, it is the largest of the inner planets As well. Mobius & Earth are the only planet known to support life and are the only planets to have liquid water upon the surface.
Water On Mobius
About 50% of the Mobius is covered with water, and 60% of that is part of the salty oceans. Only a small portion of the Mobius water is freshwater. This includes such things as rivers, lakes, and groundwater. Freshwater is needed for drinking, farming, and washing. There is even water in the form of ice at the poles. Without water, life as we know it would not exist.
Few rivers flow into the Ocean since it is bordered by mountains. However, many large rivers flow into the Ocean, carrying sediment from the land. This process is one step of the water cycle.
Surface On Mobius
Like Earth, there are large landmasses upon the surface of mobius. The surface is very much like our own planet earth. The surface is heavily forested in certain areas and other regents are dry like desert terrain, there are also mountian areas upon the surface and icecaps at the northern and southern poles of mobius.
Costal Areas On Mobius
The costal areas on mobius and very rocky and barren even though they are near the water they are very dry.
The Atmosphere On Mobius
The atmosphere surrounds Mobius and protects The planet from the dangerous rays from the sun. The atmosphere is a mixture of gases that becomes thinner until it gradually reaches space. It is composed of Nitrogen (78%), Oxygen (21%), and other gases (1%).
Oxygen is essential to life because it allows the living inhabits of the planet breathe. In addition, some of the oxygen has changed over time forming ozone. The ozone layer filters out the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Weather On Mobius
Weather is the state of the atmosphere at any given time and place. Most weather takes place in the lower layer of the atmosphere. Weather occurs because our atmosphere is in constant motion.
Some determining factors of weather are temperature, precipitation, fronts, cloud type, and wind. Other more severe weather conditions are hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms. When air is sinking, good clear weather occurs because the air is stable. However, cloudy and murky weather occurs when air rises because it is unstable.
Weather changes occur during the day. Weather also changes every season because of the Mobius tilt when it revolves around the sun
Clouds On Mobius
Clouds can come in all sizes and shapes, and can form near the ground or high in the atmosphere. Clouds are groups of tiny water droplets or ice crystals in the sky. They are associated with different kinds of precipitation depending on the atmosphere's temperature.
Cloud types are classified by height and appearance. The shape depends on the way the air moves around it. If air moves horizontally, clouds form in layers. However, clouds grow upward if air movement is vertical.
At any given time, clouds cover about 50% of the Mobius. There would not have rain, thunderstorms, rainbows or snow without clouds. The atmosphere would be quite boring if the sky was always clear.
Planetary Data File
Name: Mobius
Location: Meridian / Solar System System (ours) in opposing orbit around the Sun with Earth.
Atmosphere: A close match with Earth's.
Surface: Like Earth in that it depends where you are. Heavily forested when able.
Water: Fairly evenly distributed. I can't seem to tell any particular kind of dominant distribution(lakes, streams, rivers, or oceans).
Plant life: Heavily forested when able, otherwise dependent on local resources.
Life-forms: Multiple races inhabit the planet, as well as other kinds of animal life.
Core: I think it's an iron core, but I'm unable to figure out what kind it is.
History: Working on it, and any help would be just fine. I personally find it ironic that both planets could easily send a small ship to the other at any moment and the only reason we don't is that neither really knows of the other at this time. With our own sun blocking our view we have been slowed down due to lack of line-of-sight.
